Amidst the flurry of falling leaves these days, we have a flurry of activity at The Meemic Foundation, and we’re happy to share the latest with you.

Meemic Masterpieces

In case you missed them on our social media pages, you can now see all the winners from this year’s Meemic Masterpieces Kindness Challenge on their own webpage. Here are a couple, but you won’t want to miss all the amazing videos and pieces of art our student artists sent in. We are always so impressed with their work – and so glad to support them and their schools.

Speaking of Meemic Masterpieces, we’ve already started the next art contest!

For this grant round, we’re focusing on friendship. Meemic Foundation Club Members can sponsor a student’s original comic strip to show us what makes a good friend. Sponsoring Club members of winning entries will earn $500 for their classroom. Plus, each winning student artist will receive a Boogie Board Blackboard Smart Reusable Notebook Writing Tablet.

Entries are due by Dec. 31, 2023.

PopIn2Win

Whether you “Make Music” in your classroom or make plans to participate in the Dec. 21 Make Music Day, you can do it all with an RBI 24-person Hand Bells with Boomwhackers set. Music is a fun way to keep students engaged in any classroom!

Entries are due by Oct. 31, 2023. Click for full terms and conditions.

Community Conversation on Bullying

We’re proud to continue our collaboration with Defeat the Label to bring back this important virtual conference.

Discussions will be led by several local and national experts on a variety of topics related to bullying, mental health, and student and educator needs. The ever-popular panel discussion with the 2023-24 Michigan Regional Teachers of the Year will also be held again.

Presenters include author and youth advocate Rasheda Williams and clinical therapist and educator Franki Bagdade.

Register today for your free tickets for this important community event to empower all in the fight against bullying.

Cheers for Educators

We are so excited to sponsor a second “Cheers for Educators” event, this time with Emmy Award-winning CBS Evening News correspondent Steve Hartman speaking about Kindness 101. And how appropriate that it will be taking place on Unity Day!

We hope the winners of our third quarter grant round enjoy their time meeting Steve. See how the event went in our next newsletter.

Detroit Symphony Orchestra

We invite you to bring the love of music into your classroom with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Educational Concert Series (ECS)! The new ECS season begins Nov. 15 and 16. Interested in registering for the Nov. 16 FREE ECS live webcast? You can register here. Teacher resource tools are also available for those that register to watch the webcast online with their students.

Meemic Foundation Club members are encouraged to enjoy the DSO library of past ECS performances at any time.

Fore! Education

We also wanted to add a quick note of thanks for supporting The Meemic Foundation at this year’s annual golf outing. Dozens of golfers and painters hit the links or stayed in the air conditioning to work with Painting With a Twist.

Your support means everything to us.
