Spring may be off to a late start around these parts, but The Meemic Foundation has been scurrying to provide some great new grant opportunities and other fun projects.

April Grants

We enjoyed Jon Gordon’s book “The Positive Dog” for our March PopIn grant so much that when we heard he had a brand new book for educators, we knew we had to share it with you. Enter to win a copy of “The Energy Bus for Schools” by Gordon and Dr. Jim Van Allan. This new take on the bestselling “The Energy Bus” offers a how-to guide for fostering a positive educational environment through collaboration between students and staff. Enter to win by April 30, 2024, at MeemicFoundation.org/PopIn2Win.*

As this school year wraps up, we’re already thinking ahead to the next one! We’re giving 40 lucky schools $1,000 each to kick-off the new school year. Let’s make the upcoming school year unforgettable! Apply today for your chance to win and bring excitement to your school community. Entries due by June 30, 2024, at MeemicFoundation.org/Kickoff.**

Meemic Masterpieces Celebrate Friendship

We say it every time because it’s true: We were blown away by all the great entries to our most recent Meemic Masterpieces creativity contest. Student artists were tasked with creating a comic strip that answered this question: What makes a good friend? We took all the winners and created a special digital comic book. Visit the winners page to have a look!

Fore! Education Golf Outing

We know you golfers are already thinking about those greens if you haven’t hit the links already. On July 30, the eighth annual Fore! Education Meemic Foundation Golf Outing will be back at the beautiful Indianwood Golf & Country Club in Lake Orion, MI. Not a golfer? Then you’ll enjoy our NEW pottery painting event that we are also hosting at the Country Club! Registration for both events will open soon, but sponsorship opportunities are open now, from individual holes to various specialty title sponsorships. Contact Foundation Director Pam Harlin at Pam.Harlin@Meemic.com for more information. Watch MeemicFoundation.org/Fore for more info.

Thank You, RTOYS!

With Teacher Appreciation Week fast approaching, we’d like to give a special shout-out to the 2023-24 Michigan Regional Teachers of the Year.

Candice Jackson (the Michigan Teacher of the Year), Gina Pepin, Brandi Clark, Stephanie Nielsen, Bridgit Sova, Jennifer Senkmajer, Nicole Minor, Jaime Hilaski, Lori Richert and Vanessa Robert have shown great dedication and passion to their students and profession.

On top of their teaching duties, they’ve been serving on the Michigan Teacher Leadership Advisory Council. The mission of the MTLAC is to bring the teacher voice to a wider audience, including direct work with the Michigan Department of Education to provide input on proposed policies and initiatives, and to help to share valuable information and resources with teacher colleagues in their respective regions.

You also can read their monthly blog posts, with lots of insights, tips and teaching passion, at the Meemic Foundation Blog.
