Cheers for Educators

We hope you were able to catch our wonderful “Cheers for Educators” event “live” on Facebook early this month. It was a thrill and an honor for us to bring together an eclectic and exciting group of educators and entertainers from around the country to celebrate all you do for education.

If you didn’t see it, please feel free to watch it on the Meemic Foundation’s website at   www.MeemicFoundation.org/Cheers. In addition to the video, you can learn more about the fabulous group of speakers we had, which included:
  • Rodney Robinson, 2019 National Teacher of the Year
  • Ron Clark, 2000 Disney American Teacher of the Year, NYT best-selling author, Founder of Ron Clark Academy
  • Dr. Earl Franks, Executive Director, National Association of Elementary School Principals
  • Dave Burgess, NYT best-selling author of “Teach Like a Pirate”
  • Coy Bowles, member of the three-time Grammy Award-winning Zac Brown Band and children’s book author
  • Joe Dombrowski, former Royal Oak, MI, teacher and comedian
  • … and many more, including teacher-leaders from Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois and Georgia

The Foundation is excited to work with Defeat the Label to present the sixth annual Community Conversation on Bullying, coming up Oct. 21. The FREE, day-long conference will be virtual again this year and stream live on a variety of Defeat the Label’s platforms, including Facebook and YouTube.

This year’s speakers include award-winning author Rana DiOiro, Kindness.org CEO and co-founder Jaclyn Lindsey, bias-based bullying expert Dr. Kelly Lynn Mulvey from North Carolina State University, Oakland County, MI, Prosecutor Karen McDonald, a panel with the Michigan Regional Teachers of the Year and more.
