Meemic Insurance Company Provides 20% Premium Refund to Auto Insurance Policyholders
Our thoughts go out to those who have been affected by this unprecedented event affecting the world today.
As part of our commitment to help customers in this uncertain time, Meemic Insurance Company will issue premium refunds to its auto insurance customers. Every policyholder with auto insurance in effect as of April 30, 2020, will receive a 20% policy refund on two months of premium. This reflects current and anticipated continued reductions in miles driven. Refunds will be processed as soon as regulatory approval is received from individual state departments of insurance and will generate a policy credit.
Insurance customers do not need to take any action to receive their refund, and they can expect to see the policy credit on their account by May 31, 2020, pending approval from state insurance departments. The premium refunds apply to Meemic Insurance customers in four states: Michigan, Wisconsin, most of Illinois, and Georgia.
If you have any question, please call your agent or Customer Service at 888-463-3642.
Need Further Help?
We are pausing cancellations for auto and home policies due to non-payment through May 31, 2020.
Also, in support of our Members who are on the front line delivering critical items, we are extending our auto insurance coverage – at no additional cost – for drivers who are using their personal vehicles to deliver food and medicine. This change is in effect through May 31, 2020, and we’ll continue to evaluate as this situation progresses.
If you’re having trouble making a premium payment as a result of the coronavirus and COVID-19 impact, please contact Customer Service at 888-463-3642. Our Meemic Team will work on a case-by-case basis to come up with the best options to assist affected Members.
We especially appreciate the healthcare workers, local communities and government entities around the country who are working tirelessly to help.
Meemic and The Meemic Foundation
Support Our Community
Meemic is supporting our educational community by making an immediate donation to providers of online learning, including the Ron Clark Academy’s free online training sessions, and Virtual Michigan, which provides online classes for students and professional development for teachers. We realize the need will continue, and to help ensure our educational community is prepared for the future, we will be making further donations to support technology once school reconvenes.
In addition, The Meemic Foundation for the Future of Education is donating to several organizations that are partnering with school districts to make sure students still have reliable meals: Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, Feeding American West Michigan, Feeding America – Eastern Wisconsin, Second Harvest – Food Bank of Southern Wisconsin, Greater Chicago Food Depository, U-46 Educational Foundation and Atlanta Community Food Bank. To find out more, along with videos and resources for teachers handling remote learning, visit the Foundation's resources page.
When school is back in the fall, Meemic and our agents will look for more ways to help out where we can.
