As the new year is set to begin, we at The Meemic Foundation offer our wishes for a happy, safe and healthy one.

Here’s a look at what we’re working on.

Winter Grants

Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up in May, and our first quarter grant is here to give your school’s celebration a boost. The Meemic Foundation will provide 100 schools with a check for $500 to use to celebrate their staff during Teacher Appreciation Week! Your school can use this grant to honor your amazing staff however you see fit — be it a special luncheon, personalized tokens of gratitude or professional development resources. Entries due by March 31, 2024. Complete terms and conditions here.

And for January’s PopIn2Win grant, we’re bringing back a popular prize. Elevate your teaching experience with the Qomo QPC22 USB Document Camera, designed to transform your classroom into an engaging and interactive learning space. Capture every detail, project vibrant visuals and bring lessons to life like never before! Enter to win by Jan. 31, 2024. Complete terms and conditions here.

Community Conversation on Bullying

It was our honor and pleasure to work with Defeat the Label in bringing you the 2023 virtual Community Conversation on Bullying. Several local and national experts led enlightening discussions on the reality of bullying and what can be done to eliminate it from our schools and communities. Topics included inspiring empathy and self-esteem, teaching through trauma, neurodiversity and Matt’s Law. Special recognition goes to our 2023-24 Michigan Teacher of the Year, Candice Jackson, and the Regional Michigan Teachers of the Year that also participated in the highly anticipated Teacher Panel that is held each year.

If you missed the event, we have all the individual sessions available to view for free on The Meemic Foundation website. Check them out and share with your friends and colleagues!

Save the Date for a Round of Golf!

If you’re not vacationing in Florida, the cold and snow probably have you yearning for the days you can be back on the golf course.

As you’re thinking about the greens, mark July 30, 2024, on your calendar for the eighth annual Fore! Education Meemic Foundation Golf Club Outing. We’ll be back at the beautiful Indianwood Golf & Country Club in Lake Orion.

Whether you are a golfer or not, you can help us support Michigan educators. Sponsorship opportunities are open now, from individual holes to various specialty title sponsorships. Contact Foundation Director Pam Harlin at Pam.Harlin@Meemic.com for more information.
