Happy spring! As the weather gets more pleasant and more things start opening up, we’re sure you’re keeping busy. We are, too, so we’ll get right to it with the latest updates from The Meemic Foundation.

Meemic Masterpieces Poetry Celebration Event

We were overwhelmed by the power and emotion the students showed in our Meemic Masterpieces Poetic Rap Contest, and we are so pleased to showcase the winners in our multi-night Facebook Live event the first week of April. Many of our student writers were able to film videos of themselves presenting their poems, and we’ve put those together to share with you. What a wonderful way to celebrate National Poetry Month!

You are cordially invited to the “world premiere” of the winning entries. Join us at  Facebook.com/Meemic.

As a reminder, students were asked to write short poems about one of three topics: “COVID-19 Pandemic,” “School Life in 2020” or “Celebrating Diversity.” Winners received a set of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, and sponsoring Foundation Club Members received a $300 school supplies grant for their school.

Fifth Annual Fore! Education Meemic Foundation Golf Outing

We’re pleased to announce that our annual golf fundraiser will be back July 29 at Indianwood Golf & Country Club in Lake Orion, MI. All profits from the fundraiser will go directly to helping schools.

Not a golfer? We are introducing two new fundraising events this year including an online silent auction and our Virtual 5K Leap for Education!

Stay tuned to MeemicFoundation.org/Fore for details on how to participate in any of these events or donate.

$5,000 School Reception Makeover

Our second quarter grant round wants to show love for the heartbeat of every school – the school main office or reception area! For this grant, we will provide 10 schools with $5,000 each to work with Workspace Interiors by Office Depot to brighten up this area with new furniture and office supplies!

Applying is super easy. Just log in to your Foundation Club account and nominate a school.
No purchase necessary. For complete terms and conditions, visit MeemicFoundation.org/HeartbeatTerms.

Faculty Lounge Makeover

We’d like to close out this update with this fun video, which comes from K.E. Taylor Elementary School in Lawrenceville, GA, one of the winners of our $10,000 School Faculty Lounge Makeover.
