Implementation of US History Choice program
Educator Name: Wayne Haney
School Name: North Branch High School
I want to purchase a US History series for my department titled the Choices Program. At the center of each Choices Unit is a set of policy options that challenge students to consider multiple viewpoints on a contested issue. Students examine the historical, cultural, and political background of the issue to prepare a coherent presentation.
The Choices Program goes beyond role learning of history by engaging students in critical thinking and having them apply historical informationt to real world issues of today. What's more, Choices offeres integrated online extension projects to help more fully engage learners.
I expect students to be more fully invested in the learning process with the use of these Choices Units. What's more, I expect these resources, as they are grounded in recent research, will help enhance the learning of our teachers too.
