Agency Principal

John and Diane Mace Hello, my name is John Mace and, along with Diane Mace, we are co-owners of the Mace Insurance Agency. I am from the Downriver Community of Southgate and graduated high school from Wyandotte St. Patrick. I attended Eastern Michigan University and taught high school math at Gibraltar Carlson High School from 1969 to 1994. For twenty years of my teaching career and ten years since I retired, I have been a proud Meemic representative. I earned my agent's license in 1975. I started out selling and servicing personal lines insurance from my home in Brownstown and later in my Riverview home. I am now selling insurance out of my office in Downtown Trenton. We are able to take care of your insurance needs, the customer, in a more professional manner. Being in business for 30 years, we are now writing policies for the children of my original customers. I notice, too, my original customers are retiring and leaving the state for warmer climates. It has been a pleasure to service the educational community in the Downriver area for the last thirty years. Diane Mace is co-owner of the Mace Insurance Agency. Diane Mace is from the Downriver area growing up in Rockwood. She has been a fully licensed agent with Meemic and serviced our clients since 1984. When we first started the agency, she was the initial contact person in the office while I was teaching full time. You can find her daily in the Trenton office.

Staff

Dan Mace Dan is the son of John and Diane. He has worked for the agency since 2006, receiving his property & casualty license in 2009. Dan handles marketing for the agency and prides himself in fostering relationships with local school districts and teaching hospitals. You will often find him distributing grant checks at local schools throughout the year. He attended Riverview Schools through the eighth grade then attended and graduated from Grosse Ile High School. He is now residing in Gibraltar.

Evie Werner Evie started her insurance career with Meemic in 2003 and earned her property & casualty license that year.  She joined the Mace Agency in 2016 as an agent. She enjoys getting to know her customers and helping them find insurance to fit their needs and the peace of mind they deserve, always a pleasure to work with! Evie resides in Monroe with her two sons and husband. She enjoys family time, cooking, reading, home projects and traveling.

Mary Newton Mary has worked with our agency for more than 10 years and has been licensed in property & casualty and life insurance since 1999. She is confident and always willing to go the extra step to help. Mary grew up in Detroit and now lives in the Downriver area with her husband and children. She enjoys spending her off time Up North with her grandkids and family.

Joan Holland Joan has been in the insurance the industry for more than 30 years and is very knowledgeable about coverages. She is now our Meemic/AAA membership/roadside service sales specialist. She excels at putting a smile on our members’ faces no matter the situation.  Joan is very involved in her family and dogs’ lives outside of work.
