Grosse Pointe Schools Receive Meemic Grants

Bill Gardner from the Gardner Insurance Agency in Saint Clair Shores, MI, presented teacher Dorisann Matinuzzi of South High School in Grosse Pointe with a Meemic Foundation Grant. Dorisann’s grant will support the district’s Peer-to-Peer program that allows typically developed students to meet and work with special needs students. Congratulations, Dorisann!

Bart Bronk of University Liggett School in Grosse Pointe Woods will use it to help pay for visits to sites such as Sanilac Petroglyphs Park and the River Raisin National Battlefield as part of a new, more locally centered history curriculum for 10th-graders. Congratulations, Bart!
