After more than 27 years in education, Dr. Sabrina Evans is ready to take on a new role serving educators in and around Detroit. Over the years, Sabrina has been a computer education technician, elementary and middle school teacher, curriculum leader, assistant principal, principal and principal coach for the Detroit Public Schools Community District, including leadership as the successful “turnaround” principal for George Washington Carver STEM Academy.

She received her bachelor’s degree in communications from Western Michigan University and later graduated from University of Detroit-Mercy, earning both a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction and an education specialist degree in administration. In 2016, she earned a doctorate in teacher leadership and administration from Walden University. Sabrina wanted to nurture her entrepreneurial side when she retires, so she pursued her insurance licenses and opened Alpha-One Agency.

Sabrina and her husband, Lynn cummings, have five children and five grandchildren. She and a partner founded a nonprofit to help single mothers become homeowners. And she is an active member of Triumph Church and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, as well as other educational, community and professional organizations.
