Meemic Insurance Company Provides 20% Premium Refund to Auto Insurance Policyholders

Our thoughts go out to those who have been affected by this unprecedented event affecting the world today.

As part of our commitment to help customers in this uncertain time, Meemic Insurance Company issued premium refunds to its auto insurance customers. Every policyholder with auto insurance in effect as of April 30, 2020, received a 20% policy refund on two months of premium. This reflects current and anticipated continued reductions in miles driven. The premium refund process was completed by the end of May and was reflected in the form of a policy credit or refund check in the case of policies with a paid-in-full status.

Insurance customers do not need to take any action to receive their refund. The premium refunds apply to Meemic Insurance customers in four states: Michigan, Wisconsin, most of Illinois, and Georgia.

Support Our Community

Meemic is supporting our educational community by making an immediate donation to providers of online learning, including the Ron Clark Academy’s free online training sessions, and Michigan Virtual, which provides online classes for students and professional development for teachers. We realize the need will continue, and to help ensure our educational community is prepared for the future, we will be making further donations to support technology once school reconvenes.

In addition, The Meemic Foundation for the Future of Education is donating to several organizations that are partnering with school districts to make sure students still have reliable meals: Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, Feeding American West Michigan, Feeding America – Eastern Wisconsin, Second Harvest – Food Bank of Southern Wisconsin, Greater Chicago Food Depository, U-46 Educational Foundation and Atlanta Community Food Bank. The Foundation, in partnership with The Auto Club Group Foundation, also donated $35,000 in support of the Connected Futures initiative for students in the Detroit Public Schools District.

Meemic Offices Temporarily Closed

Auburn Hills: To help ensure the health of our Members and employees, Meemic Insurance Company has closed its Auburn Hills headquarters to the public. But rest assured our Customer Service and Claims teams, and agents, are still working hard to take care of Members.

You also can make payments or billing inquiries by phone 24/7 at 800-231-5744 or place your payment in the dropbox at our Auburn Hills location. Regular USPS is another option if your payment is not time-sensitive.
