MASSP Advisor of the Year
Ms. Lisa Lorincz Utica High School Activities Director Lisa Lorincz was selected by the Michigan Association of Student Councils as the 2004 MASC Advisor of the Year. She received the award, as well as a ring donated by Jostens and a $1,000 check to Utica High on behalf of MEEMIC Insurance Company at the MASC State Conference Awards Banquet in Traverse City. At the banquet, Lorincz's accomplishments were highlighted, especially the fact that Utica High donated the most money of any high school - $7,000 - to the MASC charity "Building with Books." Lorincz was nominated by Utica High Principal Richard Machesky and student Dan Wahl. "Mrs. Lorincz is one of those people that you get to meet once in a lifetime, if you're lucky," Wahl wrote. "She's the kind of person who stays awake for hours thinking about Utica's students, planning new ways to make the people around her happier. There are not enough words to describe this wonderful person and what she's done for Utica and me. Mrs. Lorincz is a selfless person."
